NYTT INTERVJU FRA STUDIO!

Groove.no besøkte oss da vi var i Halden og spilte inn skiva. Les intervjuet her. Oh, and by the way, our new record is called "We get along like a house on fire"...

TRONDHEIM CALLING

Good news: we're playing at the first ever Trondheim Calling festival in January next year. Hell yes!

MIXING IS DONE!

After returning from the studio and enjoying a week of everyday life, we started recieving a mix a day from Alex, our man in New York. We now have the whole album on our computers, fully mixed, and sounding like a million bucks! Mastering goes down at the end of November. Stay tuned for more news...

THE SESSION HAS COME TO AN END

We are officially finished! It's been a hectic couple of weeks, but the result is way beyond our expectations, and we are extremely proud of these songs and how they sound on tape. In about a week, Alex will start mixing the record at his studio in New York. Stoked!

EMPTYING THE CAMERA...

VISITORS

With two days to go we are pretty much on schedule. Basic vocaltracking is almost done, and last night we recorded most of the bass guitars. Today we are getting a visit from our former bassplayer and good friend Fritz of Miksha, who will lay down some screams, as well as Sarah-Jane Summers, who will be helping us out with some strings. Things are really coming together here in Halden...

LAYING DOWN SOME VOCALS, INNIT

The end is near and we are not afraid! Some tracks are almost done and some aren't. We've packed away the drums, synths and guitars, and are now down to our bare hands and throats. Right now we are laying down vocals, and believe you us, it is raging!

GUITARS ARE DONE!

We've spent quite a lot of time on them, but the guitars are finally done, and in the end it was well worth the effort. Sounding almost to good! Alex truly is wizard of sleeve. Next order of business: synths and vocals...

DET E NU BARE EN JÆVLA BLOGG...

Sorry for the lack of updates but we've been really busy recording the past few days. Now we are finished with all the drums and most of the backbone tracks for the songs. Recording to tape is awesome!! We recorded the basic tracks live and now it's guitar hero time! We also found an old plate reverb upstairs and are going totally ape on it. Its huge!!
The overall feeling here in Halden is holy shit. It's sunday and we've got a week to go. The best time of our lives!

BY:LARM 2011

Things are coming along pretty great here in Halden, New Jersey. The backbone of 8 songs are complete as we dive head first into another day of recording. Can't wait for you all to hear this, the drums sound so massive!

In other news, we have been chosen as one of 57 artists to appear on next years By:larm (the norwegian equivalent to SXSW). It all goes down in mid February, and we are very honored to be a part of it.

NECESSARY WASTE OF TAPE...

Hello dear listeners.
Today has been long and hard like a bodybuilding elf. That makes no sense... But after fixing the tape issues we had yesterday we've nailed the backbones of five songs! The mixing table is giving us a hard time by living a life of its own and the boneitis that our fifth member is suffering from just kicked up a notch.
Halden is a really exiting place, (when you're in a studio all day) but we did meet Kermit the frog and his german friend jürgen the town rapist at the local shopping mall.

AND SO IT BEGINS...

Hello everybody! To share and document the recording process of our debut album, we have started this here blog thingy. We'll try to update it with pictures and maybe even a clip or two as often as we can. 

Although recording officially starts today, we met up with Alex Newport yesterday in Oslo to do some pre-productions. What a genuinely awesome dude! The pre-prod turned out to be a very good idea, and we are now 100% ready to do this. We arrived at Athletic Sound a few hours ago, and are currently setting up shop.
